You may have heard of Chan Luu for her iconic wrap bracelets or long, layering necklaces.
Originally from Vietnam, she moved to Boston in 1972 in order to earn her B.A. in Business Administration from Boston University. Immediately following her graduation, she moved to Los Angeles. In an effort to achieve her dreams of becoming a fashion designer, she earned a degree in Fashion Design from the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising.
Her next step was opening a fashion boutique in Rolling Hills Estate with European designer clothing and accessories. 1996 marked the start of Chan Luu, Inc. when Chan began designing her own accessories. The rest, as they say, was history. Chan’s work has been featured in the top fashion magazines and beloved by some of Hollywood’s hottest celebrities.
In order to give back to her community, her products are made in Vietnam in order to improve their work stability and economy. As Chan says, “it’s not charity, just work.” And it definitely won’t take a lot of work for you to find a Chan Luu piece that sparks your interest.
